Carovigno: guided tour of the Marine Protected Area of Torre Guaceto

In the Marine Reserve of Torre Guaceto there is a unique biodiversity that contains three very different environments of great natural value, with high scientific and landscape value: coast, Mediterranean vegetation and a wetland of global importance.
Established in 2000, it is a highly protected area entrusted to the local headquarters of WWF for Nature Onlus.
The area is also home to a sea museum and an archaeological museum.
A path full of sensations in direct contact with nature, where you can admire different marine, plant and animal forms: marsh hawks, loggerhead turtles, herons, flamingos, knights of Italy have made the Reserve their essential stop.

The tour offers an excursion on foot along a road out of time that leads to the sea, the heart of the Reserve and to the ancient tower of Torre Guaceto. An evocative tale of stories of plants, men and waves in search of the essence of this special stretch of Adriatic. An experience to get to know the different natural environments of the reserve. During the walk we will discover the Mediterranean vegetation, the coastal habitats, the Aragonese Tower with the archaeological park, the wetland and it will be possible to stop for a swim in the Caletta delle Conchiglie.
